MD Now Celebrates 10 Successful Years by Giving Away Free Health Services

Posted on February 5, 2015 and filed under Press Releases

MD Now Urgent Care has just reached a major milestone, celebrating a decade of service to patients in Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, and Broward counties. From just seven patients on its first day of business in 2005, to the one-millionth patient in the fall of 2014, the urgent care network has successfully grown from one location to more than 20. That’s a compound annual growth rate of 41% in less than ten years. With 68% of the area’s households within a 15-minute drive, MD Now has become the largest urgent care network in South Florida.

To honor its 10th anniversary, MD Now will offer a complimentary visit to the first 10 patients at each of its locations on February 5. Free flu shots, free blood pressure checks, and free glucose monitoring will also be provided throughout the day.

“This is our way of thanking those in South Florida who’ve contributed to our phenomenal growth,” said Peter Lamelas, M.D., CEO of MD Now Urgent Care. “We hope the area’s residents will continue to turn to us for their healthcare needs in the future, whether they’re sick or injured or simply hoping to maintain their current health through preventive measures.”

As part of its healthier lifestyle approach, MD Now will be giving away a fitness tracker every day for the next 10 days via social media. Those who’d like a chance to win one should post their most inspirational health-related stories on the MD Now page at the following sites:

“Over the past year, we have increased our presence on social media to help our patients navigate healthcare with greater ease and less stress,” explains Dr. Lamelas. “By providing information such as health news, wellness tips and support, we help our followers achieve healthier lifestyles. We encourage everyone to join our MD Now community and participate in the conversation.”
